ABOUT US
The Institute for Behavioral Change (IBC) is a minority behavioral health agency that specializes in the delivery of health related services and support to children, adolescents, and their families with emotional and behavioral problems who require multi-agency services. It specializes in providing services that are underdeveloped or non-existent in some communities, such as intense family based services, respite care, day treatment, crisis outreach programs and diagnostic evaluation services. IBC programs are designed to ensure that families are self-sufficient. The program emphasizes the value of work as a proper role model. Other outcomes are designed so that families have fewer problems related to family violence, alcohol or other drugs, as well are breaking the cycle of welfare dependency and poverty.
For more than 10 years we have expanded our service through out the District of Columbia becoming one of the pioneer organizations in the provision of community based services. Within this context we are reaching beyond our projects and proposals to strengthen communication between our national programs and those enrooting internationally. Our goal is to become a catalyst for development and change in low- and moderate-income communities around the world, helping them to improve their health, social and economic conditions. IBC’s vision is to strengthen leadership, enhance organizational capacity and find ways to contribute to the many challenges faced by governments, local organizations, communities and civil society in less developed countries
